Pilates Teacher Training Program — FAQs

Yes. Our program is grounded in the classical Pilates method as Joseph Pilates originally created it. Trainees learn the full classical repertoire with attention to precision, sequencing, and intention—while also gaining the practical skills needed to teach today’s diverse bodies.

Absolutely. While the foundation is classical, the training includes intelligent modifications and adaptations across all major Pilates apparatus and equipment brands. Graduates leave prepared to teach confidently on different studio setups—not just one specific system.

The program covers:

  • Mat
  • Pilates
  • Reformer
  • Chair
  • Cadillac
  • Props
  • Pilates fundamentals and movement principles
  • Basic, applied anatomy for teaching movement effectively

This ensures a well-rounded education that translates seamlessly into real-world teaching environments.

This is a 600-hour comprehensive certification program. It is intentionally structured to allow time for learning, practice, observation, and integration—because becoming a skilled instructor requires depth, repetition, and mentorship.

No. This program is not an accelerated or weekend certification. Training takes place one weekend per month, beginning in September, allowing students to fully absorb the material while building confidence and teaching skill over time.

All training hours—including education, observation, mentorship, and supervised teaching—are completed in person at Garage Pilates Los Alamitos. This immersive, studio-based experience allows for hands-on learning in a professional environment.

Yes. A defining feature of this program is personalized mentorship. Students complete:

Yes. This certification is designed to prepare graduates to teach confidently and professionally at studios of their choosing. Because the program includes classical training, applied anatomy, and equipment adaptations across brands, graduates are equipped with transferable skills that meet the expectations of a wide range of studios.

No. While graduates may be considered for teaching opportunities at Garage Pilates, there is no obligation to do so. Our goal is to provide an education that stands on its own—one that supports your career wherever you choose to take it.

This program is ideal for:

  • Dedicated Pilates practitioners ready to deepen their practice
  • Individuals seeking a professional, respected certification
  • Those who value mentorship, structure, and high teaching standards
  • Future instructors who want long-term career viability, not shortcuts

The total investment for the 600-hour Pilates Teacher Training Certification is $5,500.

This tuition includes all required observation hours, supervised teaching hours, and mentorship. There is no additional test-out or final exam fee—the program is designed to assess readiness through ongoing education, practice, and guidance rather than a single high-pressure evaluation.

The program begins in September.
Full training dates will be announced February 1.

Yes. Trainees who register on or before May 1 receive an early enrollment rate of $5,000, a $500 savings.

The only additional cost a trainee may incur is participation in Pilates classes at Garage Pilates, which are taken alongside other paying clients. These classes, although not required, support skill development, body awareness, and embodied learning, and are a valuable part of the training experience.
